This term, we are focusing on making different kinds of snacks. As part of our learning, we’ve also been exploring what makes a snack healthy and how it can help our bodies stay strong and full of energy.

So far, we’ve made three snacks. In Week 1, we made muesli bars using ingredients like oats, nuts, and dried fruits, which are great for energy. In Week 2, we created a healthy snack platter made with fruits and vegetables, and we gave it to the teachers. In Week 4, we made cheese rolls, which were simple but delicious, and provided us with a good source of energy.

It’s been fun experimenting with different snacks and learning what’s good for us.

What’s your favourite  snack to eat at home?

  1. Dear Othello, your blog post was nothing short of sublime, an absolute tour de force, truly unparalleled in its brilliance. As for my preferred indulgence whilst at home, I must confess a particular penchant for a rather exquisite selection of artisanal crisps.

  2. Hey Othello, I really liked your post. To answer your question, my favourite snack would have to be Takis.

  3. Hi Othello

I am the Secondary Specialist for Manaiakalani which your school is a part of. We’re a nationwide network of educators supporting Cybersmart and digital citizenship across the country.

I enjoyed reading your post, it sounds like you’ve been really creative with putting your recipes together. Muesli bars are such a good source of nutrients, particularly I think when they are home made. I find it’s a bit hit and miss with ones that you buy at the supermarket, they might look good on the box but then they’re not that great to eat.

Anyway…one of my favourite snacks is guacamole and corn chips. I use one or two whole avocados, a good squeeze of lemon, a pinch of salt and a little red onion. Whizz it all up in the blender and serve. It’s so easy!

Have you got any photos of your food, Othello? It would be cool to see how your snacks turned out.
    Keep up the good work.
    What’s next on the menu?
